Oviedo Badminton Club Aims for Victory in the Iberdrola Cup

The Iberdrola Cup is back and the Oviedo Badminton Club is looking for a new podium in its favorite competition. This is the most relevant women’s team competition in Spanish badminton, which begins today in Toledo. The Asturian team trusts in the competitiveness of its players, although it accepts the difficulty of facing the best possible rivals and wants to honor the historical importance that the competition has had for it.

The coach of the Oviedo club, Fran Dacal, moves to Toledo a team made up of Laura Álvarez, Laura Garijo, Kristina Sotomayor, Amaia Torralba, Jana Villanueva, Lucía Soto and Ruth Veiguela, whose total commitment stands out.

Today the two group stage matches will be held: Oviedo will face Benalmádena at 12:30 and Soria at 3:30 p.m.

Fran Dacal further underlines: “We are aware of the differences in the playing conditions in Toledo, where the midfielder moves faster than in Asturias, but the team is determined to adapt and fight to bring the cup back home.”
