Objective Tricolore, the great Paralympic relay created by Alex Zanardi as a symbol of restart after the lockdown in 2020, is ready to start again from Cortina d’Ampezzo, the arrival site of the 2022 edition, to even cross over into France and conclude a journey of 22 stages and over 1,600 kilometers at the foot of the Eiffel Tower in Paris on Sunday 1 October. The fourth edition of Objective Tricolore will ideally unite in a long and big embrace two Olympic cities such as Cortina d’Ampezzo and Paris, the first venue of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in 2026 and the second of the summer ones in 2024.

The protagonists of this fascinating journey will, as always, be the Paralympic athletes of ‘Obiettivo3’, the recruitment and introduction to sport project for people with disabilities born a few years ago by Zanardi, who will ride handbikes, bicycles and Olympic wheelchairs. , running and canoeing will pass the baton to demonstrate that physical and mental disabilities are not a limit, but a different life opportunity.

The tribute tomorrow in his Noventa Padovana

After starting from Cortina D’Ampezzo on Sunday 10 September and passing through the cities of Longarone, Conegliano and Caselle d’Altivole, on Monday 11 September the relay will arrive in Noventa Padovana, the city where Alex Zanardi lives, where at 4.30 pm Expected in Piazza Europa are the reigning European handbike champion Giulia Ruffato from Venice, the Friulian Federico Mestroni (world champion in para-cycling in 2018) and the former cycling champion Francesco Moser.

On Tuesday 12 September, the renovated Colbachini Stadium in Padua will celebrate the Objective Tricolore stage with a promotional sports village which will host a series of practical demonstrations and the opportunity to try paralympic vehicles and disciplines such as handbike, Olympic wheelchair and archery, shot put , para-boxing, baseball for the visually impaired, para-bowls, table tennis, rowing, table football. The multi-medalist canoeist Rossano Galtarossa is also expected. From 10am to 4.30pm, students from the Sports Sciences department of the University of Padua and some classes from the Bernardi Professional Institute will meet the Objective3 paralympic athletes for a Master Class on training and technological developments in the Paralympic world. The day is organized in collaboration with Cip Veneto, Assindustria Sport Padova, Atletica Veneto Special Sport, Baseball Rovigo, Blue Angels Asd, Boxe Piovese, Canottieri Padova, La Barena Calcio Balilla, Table Tennis San Bartolomeo Mirano.

The relay will start again on Wednesday 13 September at 8.30 am from Palazzo Moroni in Padua towards Valeggio Sul Mincio with Annalisa Baraldo, paracyclist from Padua, Thomas Trentin, paracyclist from Vicenza, Alessandro Busana, paracyclist from Padua, Laura Roccasalva, paracyclist from Rome and the tandem Marianna Agostini and Alice Gasperini. Waiting for the arrival of the athletes in Valeggio will be the Paralympic champion Francesca Porcellato.
