Neymar asserted himself on Friday in his debut for Al Hilal. The star, who came over from Paris Saint-Germain, provided an assist and showed some nice football.
In the 6-1 win against Al Riyadh, Neymar came on after more than an hour. It attracted Al Hilal’s play and was the leader in the 4-0 of teammate and compatriot Malcom in the 83rd minute.
Then Al Hilal, which had reached 1-0 through former Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, moved further away thanks to Salem Al Dawsari’s second and third goals. Al Riyadh then saved the honor.
The 31-year-old Neymar moved from PSG to Saudi Arabia a month ago for around 90 million euros, where he reportedly earns 160 million euros in two seasons.
Neymar, who recently replaced Pelé as Brazil’s all-time top scorer, was certainly not the first major player to opt for big money in Saudi Arabia. He meets players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.
Al Hilal is in good shape in the Saudi competition after six games. The club took sixteen points and is currently in the lead.
