Defeat for Atomics
In the first placement game for seventh place in the second Bundesliga, the Neuenburg Atomics baseball team suffered a 5:9 home defeat against the Saarlouis Hornets. Atomics pitcher Luca Mayer didn’t have a good day at the beginning. Then his substitute, Tim-Luca Lindemann, had to be substituted in the sixth inning due to an injury, so the Hornets moved ahead to 6-1. The Markgräfer’s comeback in the eighth inning (5:6) was unsuccessful in the end. The Neuchâtel team will therefore have to win the second and then decisive third game in Saarlouis next weekend in order to secure seventh place in the final standings.
