Our advice for controller settings and parameters on NBA 2K24

First of all, know that these options are accessible in the main menu of the game but also in the settings section. However, some items require restarting a match to be active.

Note that in our opinion, the shot indicators are the most important options to adjust. Mainly theVisual indication Firing timing and the Jump Shot Gauge.

To get started, the easiest way is to change your settings and settings in the game’s main menu when you launch it. Go to the miscellaneous menu and then navigate to the controller settings section. This is where you will find the majority of the options we talk about here.

Our advice for NBA 2K24 controller settings

Vibration : Honestly here it’s just a question of preference. Some pros love having the option disabled, others swear by it.

Timing de Tir : Shots and double-steps. Here we prefer Shots and double-steps, since the layup animations have evolved quite a bit with NBA 2K24, especially in next-gen.

Timing des lancers francs : User timing. Regular users know that it is much more interesting to play with the User Timing option.

Visual indication Firing timing : Point or Push. This indicator is a major element of your experience in NBA 2K24 and a point which will be determined mainly by your habits and some tests. Please note, it is not the movement that is affected but the shooting indicator that is changed here.

Jump: an indicator very early in the movement Point: indication relatively early Push: indicator towards the end of the movement Finish: indication at the end of the movement

Tip: Point and Push are the two indicators that seem most natural to us. Jump indicates releasing the button almost immediately after triggering the shooting move while Finish requires having the button held down long enough. Test this option a little but for us, Point and Push make the most sense and natural.

Jump Shot Gauge : Without. Yes it seems crazy but Mike Wang (Gameplay Director on NBA 2K24) confirmed it during the beta phase of the game: without this gauge, you will have a 20% bonus on the size of the green timing window (source in English).

Tip: this seems surprising but in the end, if you have the option disabled, you will learn to manage your shots much faster. Plus, the bonus is really significant, which will make you a much better player in the medium and long term.

Double-step gauge : With. It’s not very important and there is no bonus to removing it. Double-steps seem much easier this year.

Free throw gauge : Without. Unless you play several players with extremely varied notes and animations, you will quickly learn to manage your free throws. Also, this is considered a shot, the disable bonus works.

Shot Gauge Style : Honestly, it’s a matter of preference and habit. We generally play in Comet by default.

Function of pro control system : Default. Some players will advise you to modify this part but it is considered that learning to use it will make you a better player in the medium and long term.

Pro Defense System : Absolute. Many parameters at the end of the menu should be kept by default. This is the most important so as not to change the way you move depending on your position on the field.

Who to score : With. Be careful here, it all depends on your use of the game. If you are competitive in 3v3 or 5v5, deactivate the option because you know who you are going to mark and how to move on the field.

Defensive help in defensive intensity : Between 0 and 10. In current-gen it is generally base at 0 but in next-gen, it is by default around 50. Lower it to 0 or close to 0 because this affects your mobility and the reactivity of your character .

Intensity of rebound protection assistance : between 50 and 75. Unless you are a very good inside player in a 3v3 or Pro AM team, it will be more interesting to have this help activated to ensure an effective boxout in the racket. The lower the score, the more you will need to orient yourself towards the player you are trying to block.

Passing target profile : 1-1-98. You may have seen this on videos of competitive players. The idea being to favor your passes towards the player who is the most distinguished. This is risky if your player is not very good at passing but it will help the less experienced. If you feel like your passing game is already good, leave this option alone.

Our advice for NBA 2K24 game settings

To access this option menu, open the Miscellaneous menu (from the main menu), then simply head to the Settings submenu.

Analysis of the shot : All shots.

This is an option that we find essential when launching the game. You will need this to perfect your shots and in particular your timings. As a beginner as a Veteran, this is an essential element in our opinion.

Motion blur : Cursor at 0.

Disable the Motion Blur and Motion Blur options. In the current-gen version, you will find this option in the Video settings, near the bottom of the menu, in the Kinetic blur section.

That’s our list of tips for controller settings and parameters in NBA 2K24’s options. Don’t hesitate to ask us if you’re having trouble finding an option or if you’re having trouble with a setting.
