Mannheim “Tornados” Student Softball Team Honored for BaWü Championship Win

Great success for head coach Erik Braun’s Mannheim “Tornados” student team: The super boys with European champion Tino Bieth in their ranks were honored for winning the BaWü championship

The successful softball ladies handed out small presents and then clearly and clearly defeated the Neunkirchen “Nightmares” in both games in the first play-off matches/raffle with attractive prizes

Unfortunately, both the head coach Erik Braun and his two assistant coaches Rodney Ast and Jürgen La Russa were missing due to the vacation time, but a small tribute to the successful, almost undefeated Mannheim “Tornados” students took place last Saturday, with the few great boys in attendance Troop, the coaching team was represented by the young André Hamaeker, who helped out with coaching during the round and in training. The honor took place as part of the first play-off game for the successful softball ladies, who presented decorative Tornados T-shirts as small gifts. Eleven-year-old Tino Bieth, as the reigning European champion and member of the German national team, took an excellent 9th place at the World Cup in distant Taiwan and was probably the most important and successful player in this great team at the moment. He also received a small additional present, which he was very happy about . Now the highly motivated students are off to the German Championships in Freising near Munich at the end of September (on the opening weekend of the Oktoberfest).

After the award, the “Tornados” softball ladies, who were extremely strong at the moment, gave the numerous fans in attendance and themselves a great deal of joy and made this Saturday a very special day in the wonderful late summer weather. In the end, they were able to celebrate together about two clear, convincing victories against the Neunkirchen “Nightmares”, beat the Saarlanders 4-0 and 8-1 after a fantastic performance, were clearly the better team in both games and now have to go to the reigning German team Softball champions to Bonn, where the task will be much more difficult for the “Tornados” ladies, the strong ladies around player-coach Lori Wenzel – also an outstanding pitcher – will arrive as outsiders, but certainly not without a chance if they can remember Saturday’s performance connect. Toi, Toi, Toi in the semifinals!

At the end of the day, the softball players held a raffle with very attractive prizes, which was very well received and where Michelle Cewe acted as the charming lucky fairy. The winners, who were beaming with the sun, were able to look forward to, for example, BUGA or free cinema tickets, “Tornados” T-shirts or even a really great, richly illustrated baseball book. Of course there was also enough food and drink provided. It was a wonderful, all-round successful day.
