Manchester United Player Antony Accused of Domestic Violence: Club Reacts

Manchester United have to scratch their heads again. After youth product Mason Greenwood was accused of domestic violence, Antony is now also in the eye of the storm for the same reason.

Antony’s ex-girlfriend Gabriella Cavallin accused the Brazil international of physical violence and threats. The woman shared a photo of herself with a head injury, identifying Antony as the perpetrator.

Earlier this week, the attacker was also expelled from the Brazilian selection by national coach Fernando Diniz for the same reason.

“Manchester United acknowledges the allegations against Antony,” the club’s website said. “Players who have not taken part in international matches must return to training on Monday. However, it has been agreed with Antony that he will postpone his return until further notice to address the allegations.”

“As a club we condemn violence and abuse. We recognize the importance of protecting everyone involved in this situation and we recognize the impact these allegations have on victims of abuse,” the top club concluded.

While other women are also making accusations against Antony, the player himself continues to emphasize his innocence.

“I would like to reiterate that I am innocent of the things I have been accused of and I will work with the police to help them uncover the truth. I look forward to playing again as soon as possible.”

To be continued…
