It all started innocently enough: Haaland took part in a photo shoot with the famous photographer David Yarrow (57). The city superstar was photographed by the Brit in the ice-cold water in a bay not far from the Norwegian capital Oslo – dressed as a real Viking! With a fur vest, long, loose hair and a sword and shield in her hand. Impressive images were created that “Verdens Gang” also wanted to report on. The newspaper literally writes: “Photographer David Yarrow took unique photos of footballer Erling Braut Haaland (23), who was shot on the estate of billionaire Arne Fredly in Lysaker.”

How this came about: “Verdens Gang” has apparently been using artificial intelligence (AI) for several months – and “shoot” had probably interpreted it completely wrong.
The mistake was immediately corrected by the newspaper – and an apology followed!

Sports director Frode Buanes wrote in a text message to “Dagbladet”: “I just have to apologize to Erling Braut Haaland. Although Haaland tears apart the opposing defense almost every week in England and shoots in pieces, it was by no means the intention to kill him in print.” The promise: something like that shouldn’t happen again in the future.
