Magdeburg wins against Kiel in the handball Bundesliga

Champions League winner SC Magdeburg won the game against German champions THW Kiel in the handball Bundesliga, which national coach Alfred Gislason called a “four-point game”, with 34:31 (17:15). While Magdeburg initially established itself in the top group in third place, Kiel slipped into the no man’s land of the table in ninth place.

Gislason, who was in the hall himself, tried to calm the Kiel team down. “We are only at the beginning of the season,” said the national coach at Handball-World: “I think you can definitely become champions this season even with double-digit minus points.”

This is little consolation for the Kiel team at the moment, ninth place in the table is a very unfamiliar region for coach Filip Jicha’s team, which is used to success. The THW got off to a good start in the game and quickly led 5:3, but then Magdeburg took command. In the 47th minute, Kiel made it 23:23 again before the home team made everything clear in the final phase.
