Lukaku deceives, Zapata catches the Giallorossi. Turin-Rome ends 1-1

It’s a Roma that throws itself away at the best moment, after having sniffed an away victory that had been missing for a good five months (among other things here in Turin, against the Granata, Dybala’s goal). Lukaku, always him, deceives with the usual goal; Zapata gives a point – perhaps even deserved – to Toro in the final.

INSIGHTS

Turin-Rome 1-1

Lukaku and Zapata, the two who filled the last part of the summer transfer market for the Giallorossi.

The Colombian was supposed to arrive, the Belgian showed up. And in the end this made both Juric and Mourinho happy. Today Roma remains behind the Chamapions group, five points less which is a lot, but not infinite, given that there is still a life left at the end of the championship.

And the conditions are there, especially with this Lukaku here who, in his hundredth in Serie A, scores for the third time in the third match played as a starter. He flies (fifth goal against Torino since he has been in Italy), Dybala struggles, he still goes intermittently.

The defense makes the usual positional error: Zapata jumps with Llorente planted on the ground and Ndika observing him without disturbing him. Smalling’s absence is evident and is felt. The flanks don’t work very well, Kristensen struggles, this time Spinazzola does better, who before Romelu’s goal, invents a kissing assist for Cristante, who grazes the ball sending it to the post (the sixth in the league, seventh including the cup). Roma misses an opportunity to move back towards the hot zone, on Thursday it’s Genoa and on Sunday it’s Frosinone. The calendar helps, but the whole team needs to do it. Because Lukaku – as we saw this time in Turin – is not enough.
