Luis Rubiales on pity tour after kissing scandal at World Cup final

Everyone gets the stage they deserve. Luis Rubiales announced his retirement from the top spot at the Spanish Football Association in favor of Piers Morgan, the primal specimen of Britain’s Murdoch journalism zoo.

Morgan wanted to know from the Spaniard why he was sitting with him. Sure: Finally “telling what really happened” at the World Cup final. Now it was all captured in moving and still images: how Rubiales holds captain Jennifer Hermoso’s head and kisses her, how he grabs his crotch in the VIP stand in the presence of the 16-year-old heir to the Spanish throne to give his trainer a hug to congratulate his masculinity, which is apparently crucial for his success.

“My intentions were noble”

But Luis Rubiales has to use a stage like this so that “it becomes clear to people” who at least is a victim. “My intentions were noble, 100 percent,” Rubiales says of his Sydney performance.

And he bought his little daughter her favorite ice cream out of sheer concern for her in view of the public outrage against her father.

Let’s mark the end of an eventful summer: Spain’s world champions continue to strike. The justice system will take care of the kiss. And what exactly is Luis Rubiales’ favorite ice cream? We do not know it. But probably it is touched by his tears for himself.
