Last May, Sky expert Lothar Matthäus (62) publicly advised FC Bayern to buy Serhou Guirassy (27) when they were looking for a center forward.
He said to BILD long before Bayern’s chewing gum deal with Harry Kane (30) went through: “I would get Guirassy!” A statement for which Matthäus was only wearily laughed at at the time.

Bayern should perhaps have listened better to the record national player (150 appearances). Because: After his 9 million move to VfB Stuttgart, Guirassy is currently shooting the Bundesliga short and small and is at the top of the top scorer list with eight (!) goals from four games. And would have been available at a bargain price in the summer thanks to an exit clause of 15 million euros.
Instead, FC Bayern brought super star Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur for over 100 million euros. The league’s record purchase currently stands at “only” four goals after four match days. Including – unlike Guirassy – a penalty.
Absolutely crazy: At Guirassy so far this season, every shot (on goal) has been a goal. He scored his first Bundesliga hat-trick in Saturday’s 3-1 win in Mainz.
The fact that things are going so well for Guirassy, who was still considered a dead chance at 1. FC Cologne in 2019, is also due to the fact that the father of three feels right at home with his family in Stuttgart.
