LANUVIO (events) – The city hosts a major cultural event

Starting from 10 September, Lanuvio will host a major cultural event. The testimonies of the Donario di Licinio Murena will return to the city in the place where they were found 140 years ago.
It was Lord Sevile Lamley, ambassador to her British majesty, who discovered them between 1884 and 1892 near the Sanctuary of Giunone Sospita and transferred them to England.
The remains held at the Leeds Civic Museum together with those held in the Lanuvio museum will now be shown together. The donation is inspired by a bronze sculptural group commissioned by Alexander the Great.
The testimonies of Licinio Murena’s donation will be exhibited for a year in the Secretariat of Palazzo Colonna-Il Cantinone.
