On the 23rd, the Southwestern American Veterans Association of Korea (Chairman Park Gyeong-jeong) held a construction ceremony for the construction of a shower facility for the homeless at Yuca Valley Embassy Tree near OC.

This event, named ‘First Step to Hope’, was co-hosted by the Christian Veterans Association (Chairman Seung-hae Lee), the Sil Beach Veterans Association (Chairman Byeong-moon Lee), and the Sofa Missionary Group (Director Cho Myeong-ja).

At this event, Chairman Park Kwang-jeong said, “Although the Veterans Association is a small organization, it is meaningful that we have been able to provide local service for the United States, which has helped in a country receiving help.” He added, “I am grateful to the organizations that have shared the same goal, and if possible, this will be a one-time event.” “We will pursue projects every year to serve underprivileged communities,” he said.

Seunghae Lee, President of the Christian Veterans Association, said, “I am grateful for my long-cherished desire to serve the community, and what the Republic of Korea wants is to promote Korea-U.S. friendship through service to the American community. “It is an alliance,” he said. “The veterans of the Korean War will take the lead and work hard for this project.” At this event, there was a congratulatory performance by ‘Always Music Ministries’ (Chairman Pastor Baek Ki-bong).

Meanwhile, this project to build shower facilities for the homeless in Jasua Tree is scheduled to be completed in December this year.
