The “Kokoro: in the heart of things” project officially began yesterday for the amateur sports association La Brigata degli Unicorni of Pollenza, financed entirely by Sport and Salute, a state company for the promotion of sport and correct lifestyles. It will last two years. The project involves the organization of riding courses and non-verbal communication with the horse, pet therapy and activities with the dog, introduction to judo (as a tool to fight bullying), self-defense for girls, expressive art and mental coaching. All of this, aimed at boys and girls aged 14 to 34 and totally free. The ASD La Brigata degli Unicorni, led by Loredana Capone, was in fact the winner of the “Community civic spaces” tender, an initiative promoted by the department for youth policies and universal civil service of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, in collaboration with Sport and Health. The call includes support for projects proposed by associations and amateur sports clubs in partnership with other local actors (Municipality of Pollenza, asd Judo Club Urbisaglia, Magical Pet – Animal-assisted interventions and social agricultural company La casa di Stefano) for the implementation of youth aggregation activities. With particular attention to the categories most at risk of marginalization, such as young people in the NEET (Not in education, employment or training) condition, young people with disabilities of all kinds, belonging to particularly disadvantaged groups or coming from territories characterized by forms of widespread hardship of a cultural, social or economic nature. “Sport is an important agent of inclusion, participation in community life, acceptance of differences and limits – explain the Municipality -.
