Guatemala City, September 9 (Prensa Latina) The renowned Kevin Cordón will seek to ratify his class today in the semifinals against the Spanish Pablo Abián and go with everyone tomorrow for the Guatemala International Challenge 2023 badminton trophy.
In the round of 16, the native of the department of Zacapa also demonstrated speed of movement, reflexes, and ultimately superiority (2-0, 21-14 and 21-12) against the Mexican Armando Gaitán, ranked 98th in the world.

In the women’s division, Chapina’s Nikté Sotomayor fell 0-2 in the quarterfinals, against the Canadian Wen Yun Zhang, who will compete in the semifinal against the American Ishika Jaiswal.
Meanwhile, fellow Canadian Eliana Zhang will chase the title pass over India’s Imad Farooqui Samiya.
This prestigious international competition, with 10 figures among the top 100, will award 3,200 points for the universal list, facing qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic event.
