JawaPos.com – Persebaya Surabaya’s defeat to Madura United is still being discussed. However, Josep Gombau provided an explanation regarding the minor results.
According to the Spanish coach, his team’s 3-0 defeat to Madura United, Sunday (17/9), could not be separated from several factors.
The 47-year-old coach thought that the penalty given to Madura United at the start of the half had an influence on the course of the match, even though the Green Force was still able to balance until the end of the first half. “We played quite evenly in the first half, even though we were too quick to take a penalty,” said Gombau.

After that, their party had to lose goalkeeper Andhika Ramadhani due to injury. He was replaced by Aditya Arya, a 19 year old goalkeeper, who was making his debut with the Green Force.
“This situation has become difficult for us, although I can’t blame him (Aditya). “However, it was too soon for him to have a heavy burden facing one of the best teams (Madura United),” he said.
Gombau only congratulated Aditya who made his debut with Persebaya, just like he did as head coach of Persebaya. “There is still time ahead, and I think this is good capital for him to get better,” said the former Barcelona youth coach.

Persebaya must be optimistic about the next match, especially when facing Arema FC, Saturday (23/9). Green Force also shouldn’t be worried about the absence of Andhika Ramadhani, even though Persebaya is believed to not be able to strengthen Ernando Ari because he is defending the Indonesian U-24 national team at the 2022 Asian Games.
Gombau is also enthusiastic that Green Force can bounce back after the defeat to Madura United. Together with Uston Nawawi, Gombau is optimistic about bringing good results when facing Singo Edan later.
