Jasper Philipsen Clinches 12th Victory of the Season at Championship of Flanders

Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck) has booked his 12th victory of the season. In the Championship of Flanders in Koolskamp he was the first to throw his wheel over the line, ahead of the Dutch Jakobsen and Groenewegen.

The Championship of Flanders guarantees a royal sprint in Koolskamp.

The 3 tenors were able to sprint for the win. Side by side, Jasper Philipsen, Dylan Groenewegen and defending champion Fabio Jakobsen stormed to the finish.

Philipsen won with a half-wheel lead, just like in 2021 for Groenewegen. Jakobsen came 3rd.

Philipsen: “Hope to add some more victories”

Jasper Philipsen has started the last part of his season with a new victory. The sprinter has already won for the 12th time this year.

“It was a beautiful and calm day in pleasant temperatures,” responded the fast man.

“It was very close,” he realized. “I felt Dylan coming strong. I am very happy that I came out on top.”

If it were up to Philipsen, it wouldn’t stop at 12. “I’m riding my best season and hope to add a few more victories to it,” concludes the winner of 4 Tour stages.
