Jarred Vanderbilt Signs Four-Year Extension with the Lakers

THE ANGELS — Jarred Vanderbilt agreed to a four-year, $48 million extension with the Lakerssecuring the defensive-minded forward into the team a couple of weeks before the start of training campsources told ESPN on Friday.

Sources said the new deal includes a player option for the fourth season.

Vanderbilt was acquired from Utah Jazz in a series of moves that the vice president of basketball operations and general manager of the LakersRob Pelinka, orchestrated near the trade deadline last season and was a key piece in the advance of Los Angeles to him play-in tournament at the end of the season until reaching Western Conference finals.
