Jarred Vanderbilt has been in the NBA since 2018 and in that season he debuted at the age of 19 and as a teammate of Nikola Jokic on the Denver Nuggets. Last year he faced him in the postseason and he knows the greatness of the Serbian player.
On the Run Your Race podcast, Vanderbilt talked about how impressive it is to play against and as a teammate of Jokic, as he has experienced both sides of the coin in his short NBA career.

“He was just different,” Vanderbilt said. “Once I realized how nice he was and how much of an impact he could make, when I was there he was always super nice. But they put a little pressure on him to go for MVP… Once he realized that I could do that, at that moment it was over.”
Other players have confessed that Jokic at the beginning did not really know his potential and that as time went by he became the player we see today.
Jokic, by many the best player in the NBA, defeated Vanderbilt and the Lakers in the Western finals last year and then won the franchise’s first title by defeating the Miami Heat.
