This trail was designed with the aim of promoting the socio-economic development of rural areas and their historical and cultural heritage, while preserving the biodiversity of the place.

Basilicata offers a myriad of routes to discover by mountain bike, on foot or on horseback. Its five natural parks, including two national parks, are a paradise for lovers of hiking and thrills. A stop on the way there or back will also allow you to discover the town of Matera and its famous Sassi (troglodyte dwellings).

Calabria highlights experiential tourism with an immersion in its natural parks that can be crossed thanks to a 545 km cycle path. There you can experience rafting, canyoning and glamping. Trekking lovers can take the numerous routes which reveal the hidden treasures of the region and tell its history, like the Brigands trail.

In Sicilyit is possible to explore the unique universe of the Geopark and feel the deep link between geology and the myth of deities linked to the earth.

Olive oil and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese

Italy is famous for its delicious cuisine. You can bring back products such as extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, artisan pastas, tomato sauces, or even truffles if you visit the appropriate regions.

Grappa or limoncello

Italy is also one of the largest wine producers in the world. You can bring back a bottle of quality Italian wine, prosecco (Italian sparkling wine), or even local liqueurs like limoncello (made from lemon) or grappa (grape brandy).
