For Badminton Denmark and DGI Badminton, the ranking is about
• Rank all competitive badminton players in relation to each other, so that everyone can participate in the most equal competition.
• A goal for Badminton Denmark and DGI Badminton is to get as many badminton players as possible to experience joy, development and experience by playing badminton, so that we retain them in the sport and reduce dropouts. We do this, among other things, by ensuring that the players feel part of a current community.
• The joy of developing must be in focus, and as we know from experience that it often takes a while to move to a new level in terms of playing and to establish yourself among new, previously much better opponents.

We really want to
• Promote development for the individual, so that it is no longer just about participating a lot, but also about relating oneself to one’s own and others’ achievements.
• You compete at a level and in pace with your sporting development against equal opponents, until you are ready to take the next step in your development and try against the next level of players, across age groups etc. Badminton Denmark’s Elite Division is agree with the possibility of optimizing personal development.
• Facilitate the transition to senior activity by the fact that all age-relevant youth players are already placed at their current senior level by comparing points around the transition years from child to adult, before these actually become senior players.

The future
• In the future, with the ranking, we will promote the possibility of building activities with equal competition.
• The new ranking underpins the next three years’ development initiatives for the benefit of competitive badminton at all levels, and gives everyone an opportunity to see themselves at a given level in their badminton development compared to others in the community who practice competitive badminton, and whether you are young or old.
