Inter-Milan: Mkhitaryan, Inzaghi’s irreplaceable player is aiming for the derby

Don’t call him Michele, only some of his teammates at Inter do that, for everyone else he is Miki, short for Mkhitaryan, the Armenian that Inzaghi never wants to give up. Despite the 34 years, Miki played 90, 82 and 90 minutes in the first three of the championship and if he hadn’t suffered a serious blow in Cagliari he probably would have played the whole match there too. With Barella and Calhanoglu he makes up a high-level midfield and, unlike the other two, he has remained in Appiano working these days thinking only of the derby.

His goal in the Champions League semi-final remains in memorythe highest moment in his experience in Milan where in just over a year he became a cornerstone and a fundamental cog in Inzaghi’s beautiful game. He defends and attacks, jumps the man, finishes and guarantees technique and experience. In the last Champions League campaign, Mkhitaryan was one of the great protagonists and it so happens that the only match from the round of 16 onwards in which he was not a starter due to a muscle problem was the final where he only entered for 6 minutes, fueling some regrets. Why with Michele, or rather Miky, it’s a completely different Inter.
