On the first day, Tom Kim of Korea had the best shot of 18 holes, who needed 64 shots on the course. He had unlucky days two and three (73 and 70 respectively), which dropped him to a tie for 12th place before the decisive day.

On the second day, one of the surprises of the golf season, Englishman Jordan Smith (number 88 in the world ranking), who was two strokes behind the leader on the first day, unexpectedly became the leader. He completed 18 holes with a 64 on the second day, three strokes ahead of the closest follower in the competition, Scotland’s Evan Ferguson (ranked 140th in the world). Smith birdied the first five of the first six holes on the second day (one stroke less than expected) and continued to play safely to protect the lead.

However, Smith did not manage to protect the lead on the third day, as for the third time he completed the route of the Olympic “Le Golf National” golf club with only 70 strokes. Ferguson had a stable first three days (66, 67 and 67 shots), which allows him to share first place with Smith after two days with 200 shots.

On the third day, the best was the Japanese Kazuki Higa (156th place in the world ranking), who completed 18 holes with 65 strokes. He has 201 hits after three days, which puts him in the “bronze” position. The German Janik Pauls (world rank 104) is one stroke behind, while the Japanese Rio Hisatsune (world rank 166) has 204 strokes after three days. Sixth place is shared by four golfers before the decisive day.

Last year’s winner, the Italian Guido Migliozzi, is only in 34th place after three days, ten strokes behind the leaders.
