Valerio Mazzola, the Vuelle Pesaro big man, is back on the pitch after a long Achilles tendon injury. “I’m working hard, I can push well and I’m improving day by day,” Mazzola tells Carlino. Although he admits that he is not yet at the level of last season, he is optimistic for the future.
The team, in the meantime, has found Scott Bamforth and Gavin Schilling again, and coach Maurizio Buscaglia is working to refine the automatic systems. Mazzola underlines the importance of team spirit: “We have done everything possible so far to create a real amalgam between us. We’re all curious to find out what kind of team we are when it really matters.”
Mazzola praises the club’s choice to keep the same group of Italian players who did well last year. “We are a good group made up of many good guys,” he says, adding that perhaps the team could use “a hot head who shakes us up every now and then.”
Vuelle Pesaro will present the new uniform tomorrow afternoon, with captain Matteo Tambone and Quincy Ford as models. The event will take place in the courtyard of the Civic Museums of Pesaro and will see the participation of various personalities, including the mayor Matteo Ricci.
