The Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz stated this Saturday that he must “listen” to his “body”, with accumulation of fatigue after several tournaments in North America, “after a very long tour” and that has forced him to take a break, giving up playing with Spain in the group stage of the Davis Cup Finals.

“I was very excited to play the Davis Cup in Valencia for Spain, but I have to listen to my body after a very long tour. I need to stop and rest, physically and mentally,” said the Murcian tennis player from his profile on the social network old Twitter).

“The calendar is very demanding, there is still a lot of season left, and now I have to recharge my batteries. Good luck to the Spanish team! I will be supporting you strongly. Let’s go!” added Alcaraz, alluding to a group stage that will be played from September 12 to 17.

After confirming his absence in Valencia, following a demanding participation in the US Open until being eliminated in the semifinals, the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET) reported that the Catalan Albert Ramos will replace the Murcian in the team captained by David Ferrer.
