Houston Rockets player Kevin Porter Jr. was arrested for assault and strangulation in a case that took place at a New York hotel on Monday.
According to ABC News, the athlete’s alleged victim is his spouse. This is Kysre Gondrezick, a former WNBA player.

Authorities were called around 6:45 a.m. and they arrested the 23-year-old man.
Gondrezick was reportedly frustrated by the lateness of his partner’s return to the hotel and locked the door to their room. Porter Jr. allegedly had the help of a security guard to unlock the door and then beat his girlfriend.
The latter was treated for a cut on the right side of her face and neck pain.
Porter Jr. was drafted by the Rocket with the 30th overall pick in the 2019 auction. Last year, he averaged 17.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and one assist per game.
