Hansi Flick and the DFB team crisis: national coach failed as a developer

National coach Hansi Flick ran out of fuel, which is called trust. The DFB is separating from him. When asked what the team and German football need now, there are two answers.

Energy! That should be the magic word for the national team. Hansi Flick has recently spoken about this again and again: when it came to selecting his players for these international matches, when it came to appointing Ilkay Gündogan as captain, everything was aimed at giving his team the freshest possible boost.

But unlike Captain Picard on the Enterprise, the command from the bridge did not have the desired result. On the contrary, after the 4-1 defeat against Japan, a crash landing the likes of which German football has rarely experienced, it is clear that the departure will not work out. Not now, not with this coach, and, it is to be feared, not until the European Championships next summer.
