Haggerty re-elected as ITF president – sport.ORF.at

Somewhat surprisingly and above all clearly, David Haggerty was confirmed in his office as President of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) on Sunday in Cancun. With 318 votes or 72.94 percent, the American clearly prevailed against his opponent, the German Dietloff von Arnim (118 or 27.06 percent).

During his time in office, Haggerty concluded the controversial billion-dollar deal with the sports agency Kosmos that collapsed this year.

There seems to be a consensus that something needs to be changed in the current format of the Davis Cup. In any case, the ITF board will receive four modified models for the traditional competition to assess and decide on.
