Guatemala City, Sep 7 (AGN).- Kevin Cordón was honored during the opening ceremony of the Guatemala International Challenge, at the Teodoro Palacios Flores National Gymnasium.
During the activity, authorities from the National Badminton Federation and the Guatemalan Autonomous Sports Confederation (CDAG) accompanied the 32 participating delegations.
The tournament is played from September 6 to 10.
The tribute was given for Kevin’s 24-year career. All his effort and work could be seen when he finished in fourth position at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Cordón thanked the gesture and reiterated his commitment to reach a new appointment in Paris 2024.

After being decorated, Kevin commented the following:
We are ready for this tournament, which in our region is the most important, because due to its level, it awards many points for the ranking in the race to Paris 2024. It feels very nice when you receive this type of recognition, especially when you are reminded of the path you have traveled because, focused on the tournaments, you do not realize how much time has really passed and, for me, it is 24 years in this profession.
Personally, I hope to advance as much as possible in the contest to add the largest number of units that allow me to continue among the best positioned on the continent until April, when the classification is finished.
