The Greek Federation announced that Dimitris Itoudis left his position as coach on Monday.
Greece coach Dimitris Itoudis has left his position, the Hellenic Basketball Federation announced on Monday. “The men’s national team and Dimitris Itoudis will not continue their common path that began before EuroBasket 2022 and ends after this year’s World Cup», notes the press release.
Without its star Giannis Antetokounmpo, who had withdrawn, Greece finished in a disappointing fifteenth place at the 2023 World Cup played between the end of August and mid-September. She will have to participate in a pre-Olympic tournament to hope to compete in the Olympics in Paris next year.

The 53-year-old Greek coach won the Euroleague twice with CSKA Moscow, in 2016 and 2019. Since June 2022, he has been the coach of the Istanbul club Fenerbahçe.
