Gold and bronze for Jaime Duro and Diego Piñeiro in the World Marathon

The second day of the Canoeing Marathon World Championship, which is taking place in Denmark, has been a day of triumphs for the Galician delegation, with two brilliant medals for their paddlers.

Jaime Duro, who had already been crowned champion last year in Portugal, claimed his second world title by completing the race in an impressive time of 01:34:08.94. Duro demonstrated his dexterity and stamina, beating Pole Eryk Wilga, who came in second with a time of 1:35:19.40, more than a minute apart.

On the other hand, Diego Piñeiro, also from the Ciudad de Pontevedra EP, successfully defended his bronze title last year. Pineiro came to the finish line in third position, showing his consistency in the event and securing third place with a time of 1:36:06.15, almost two minutes behind the winner.

The Galician representatives still have more opportunities to shine in this prestigious championship. Tomorrow, the paddlers of the Verducido Canoeing, David Pazos y Miguel Franco, will compete in the K1 youth male category. Besides, Manuel Garrido y Tone Fields will participate in the senior C1 category, while ivan alonso y Adrian Prada they will be looking to make their mark in the senior K1 final.
