Globalcaja Basketball Teams Unveiled for the 2023-2024 Season

Players and managers of the Basket Globalcaja Quintanar, the Globalcaja La Roda Foundation and the CB Villarrobledohave gathered at the stand Globalcaja of the Fairgroundsto present the teams with which they will face the new 2023-2024 season.

This meeting has served to highlight the commitment of the leading financial entity in Castilla-La Mancha to sport and the effort that these three veteran clubs have been making for years to promote basketball and generate youth talent.

José Luis Melero, president of the Villarrobledo Basketball Club, founded in 1992, which has competed for four seasons in LEB Plata, until its registration in Primera Nacional by decision of the club, has highlighted the good level of basketball in the province of Albacete, which can boast of having three teams in LEB Plata and one in EBA.

The president of CB Villarrobledo has valued the support that Globalcaja offers to grassroots sports and has especially highlighted the Globalcaja Benjamín Circuit, where around 300 boys and girls from the entire region compete.

Next, the vice president of Fundación Globalcaja La Roda, Rocío Tébar, He highlighted that this will be his seventh season in LEB Plata. “We are very proud of our youth team and of competitions such as the Mini Basket tournament of which this year we will hold the 25th edition,” he stressed.

The Globalcaja La Roda Foundation It is one of the teams with the most tradition in basketball in our region and can boast of having one of the oldest sports sponsorships in the country, with 34 years of support from the financial entity.

The meeting ended with the presentation of Globalcaja Basket Quintanar, a team from Quintanar del Rey, founded in 1983, which has competed in the fourth level of Spanish basketball for more than a decade.

Juan Carlos Navarro, coach of Globalcaja Basket Quintanarwho thanked Globalcaja for the opportunity to bring together these three teams, has valued the fact that this club belongs to the town with the smallest population of all those competing in the EBA League, “it is a milestone to highlight and we must thank Globalcaja that we can have continuity in a competition as demanding as this one.”
