The start of the match was very lively and it didn’t stop there. Sugawara, very good in the first period, could transmit to Ito. The Stade de Reims striker was able to deflect the ball towards Ueda, who gave Japan the advantage (2-1, 22nd). Germany really seemed in danger and made too many technical errors, especially in the restart. Without a solution throughout the second half, Germany logically lost against a Japanese team which has continued to progress since its good performance in Qatar last winter. The Mannschaft will have to show a much better face against the French team and the United States, its next opponents this fall. Another poor performance would endanger Hansi Flick’s place.
