Frustration Mounts as SM Caen Criticizes Refereeing in Match Against ASSE

It is not in the habit of Jean-Marc Furlanyet yesterday, annoyed by the decisions of Mr Kherradjithe coach with the cap distributed the cards in the post-match press conference: “We are very upset by the refereeing over 95 minutes. We had a very good second half because we had the legs but in the locker room, we were all very upset by the refereeing. There were several fouls in the penalty area which were not whistled. There are notably two on Ali Abdi. But hey, it’s AS Saint-Etienne, it’s not like SM Caen… It’s very frustrating. I think we lose the match on this.”

The Norman technician then spoke about the meeting and the performance of his team against ASSE: “It’s especially in relation to the very important work that we do, which means that in the second half, we overthrow the teams, and not in the first. The opponent had legs and they moved us. He “There’s a team that had talent up front and when you’re AS Saint-Etienne, you have a lot of talented players. But we were largely capable of coming back to the score in the second half.”

On the arbitration side, the Caen scorer, Alexandre Mendy made an observation similar to that of his coach: “We are very upset. We have just experienced two matches that are similar, where we were caught in the game. I think the penalty awarded to Saint-Étienne is quite nice. On our side, there is at least one penalty on Ali (Abdi, in the 62′), when he just has to push it into the goal and the Stéphanois shoots it. It’s part of football. For me, we didn’t lose against Saint-Étienne but against the referee.” Same feeling for the SMC doorman, Anthony Mandrea who considers himself wronged after the arbitration of Mr. Kherradji: “We have to watch the videos again, I think it’s not just them who deserved a penalty. I hope that the referees will watch the match again on video and that they will see their mistakes. We have some seen a few. Afterwards it’s the game, we shouldn’t hide behind it but it’s annoying, very annoying and it’s starting to take a toll.”
