Finalists last week at the China Open, one of the biggest tournaments in the world, Delphine Delrue and Thom Gicquel did not experience the same success in Hong Kong in the Super 500. After going through two rounds, the French, seeded number 2, were knocked out on Friday in the quarter-finals by the Vietnamese pair Tan/Tse.
The match was played in three sets but the Blues were only really competitive in the first set, won down to the wire. Quickly left behind in the next two sets, they gave in after 1 hour 05 minutes of play (21-19, 9-21, 11-21).
