Free Activities for Seniors: National Week of Retirees and the Elderly in Saumur 2023

On the occasion of the national week of retirees and the elderly, the CCAS of the City of Saumur is offering free activities for seniors from October 2 to 13, 2023, in partnership with various associations. On the program for this 2023 edition, discovery of heritage, conferences, IT, shows, art, well-being, conferences…

For all appointments offered, prior registration is required. Registrations are open until September 29 at delegated town halls, at the CCAS, at the Clair Soleil residence and at the Espace Jacques-Percereau (information on 06 70 27 01 54).

Monday 2. “Well-being meetings” offer individual and group activities and workshops to feel good in your body: visual and auditory prevention, socio-aesthetics, qi gong, braingym, chair massage, reflexology, age-related body therapy, sophrology, at the Martineau room (Saint-Lambert-des-Levées), from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Mardi 3. A digital workshop is offered to seniors to better use a smartphone or tablet in the Bonnemère room (opposite the City Hall courtyard), from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. A conference on the health benefits of physical activity will be held in the Martineau room (Saint-Lambert-des-Levées), from 2:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the intervention of Dr. Claude Paumard.

Wednesday 4. Daily security will be discussed with a workshop conference in the Salle des Hauts-Quartiers. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the family protection gendarmes (elder brigade) will intervene on several points of vigilance: direct sellers, fake agents, Internet scams, emotional fraud, mistreatment, etc. Another conference workshop on the theme “Driving safely” will take place in the same room, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The gendarmerie of the Vivy motorized platoon will provide information on the new Highway Code regulations.

Thursday 5. A gentle aquagym session in the Val de Thouet swimming pool is possible from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. (registrations on 02 41 50 45 55), as is the discovery of drawing (dry techniques, dry/oily pastel, charcoal, graphite) with the School of Art in the Jardin des Plantes from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

An interactive conference on “the link between the body and the mind” is offered by the Coordination Autonomy association with a professional coach at the André-Lacaze space (Saint-Hilaire) from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (registrations at 02 41 83 22 20).

Friday 6. Introduction to golf (practice, putting and training course) in Saint-Hilaire Saint-Florent, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., and digital workshop dedicated to the pitfalls of the Internet at the Bonnemère room, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., are on the program. As part of the discovery of heritage, a historical and architectural presentation of the Château de Saumur and a visit to the rooms (museum) is offered from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. (virtual visit possible for people with reduced mobility).

Saturday 7. “Literary Café and Musikéciné” at the media library (10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., registration at 02 41 51 06 12).

Monday 9. A workshop for gentle physical activities with Saumur associations (archery, cycling, karate, curling, volleyball, judo, Nordic walking, e-sport) will take place in the André-Lacaze space (Saint-Hilaire) from 14 to 5 p.m.

Mardi 10. A digital workshop to properly use administrative sites will be held in the Bonnemère room from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Theater will be offered on the theme “Loving has no age: love and tenderness” in the Beaurepaire room, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Agirc-Arrco Pays de la Loire social action committee proposes to approach without taboo the theme of the emotional and sexual lives of seniors through this theatrically humorous conference.

Wednesday 11. A “dancing show” will be delivered by the artists of the Cénomane orchestra at the Salle Martineau (Saint-Lambert) for a unique music hall in Saumur with rhinestones and sequins: “Succès Folies”. On view from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Thursday 12. A participatory debate to make a concrete contribution to improving living well in your city through various workshops is offered in the Duplessis-Mornay room (courtyard of the Town Hall) from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A tea dance, with atmosphere musette and retro, is scheduled at the André-Lacaze space (Saint-Hilaire) from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Friday 13. Digital workshop to better use a smartphone or tablet in the Bonnemère room, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Finally, as there is no age limit for having fun, the game library will show off its games from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (no registration required).
