Avianca has appointed Frederico Pedreira as its new deputy CEO to reinforce the work of the company’s current chief executive, Adrián Neuhauser, who will continue to hold the same position.
Pedreira will immediately be in charge of vital processes for Avianca such as operations, human talent, technology, corporate communications, customer promise and institutional relations.
Neuhauser will continue as CEO of Avianca and thanks to these promotions, which will further strengthen the team, as explained by the company, he will be able to continue leading Grupo Abra’s strategic projects.
Pereiro joined the company in January 2021 as director of operations. In a short time, he led a substantial improvement in operational indicators, positioning it in the world rankings for its punctuality. He has also been a fundamental piece for the company to currently have a “more competitive” structure and thus allow more passengers to fly.
On the other hand, Avianca has decided that Gabriel Oliva will assume the position of director of operations, at the same time that he will continue as CEO of Avianca Cargo. In his new role, he will lead the areas of maintenance, security, network and ground operations, service delivery, airports, cabin crew and pilots, while continuing to spearhead the transformation of the cargo business.
In the leadership of Avianca Cargo, Diogo Elias, Senior Vice President of Cargo, will assume the day-to-day operation of this unit, developing and executing the growth strategy that has been outlined in terms of network, fleet, customer promise, efficiency and people and technology.
Gabriel Oliva joined the Avianca Cargo team in the middle of 2021 and has managed to lead the reinvention of that business unit in these two years. From Avianca they have highlighted that, together with his team, he has improved the competitive position of the business in strategic markets, by focusing on the network, the fleet, efficiency, technology and his work team.
