In front of the large hall of the Cité de la Mer in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin (Manche), there were several dozen waiting for the opening of the Forum of Associations, Saturday September 9, 2023. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., more than 300 associations were present, not only in Cherbourg-Octeville, since the Forum was held in the five delegated municipalities of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin: Équeurdreville-Hainneville, La Glacerie, Tourlaville, Querqueville.
More than 120 stands at the Cité de la mer
Like last year, the large hall of the Cité de la Mer was full with more than 120 stands. Sports and cultural associations, but also leisure and solidarity, there was something for all tastes and for everyone. To the delight of children and parents, including demonstrations and the possibility of trying archery, judo or even golf. The opportunity also to register for the sporting and cultural activities offered by the city of Cherbourg.

At the opening of the event, the mayor of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, Benoît Arrivé, welcomed « l’engagement » volunteers. He then toured the main hall, meeting the volunteers, in the company of Anna Pic, MP for Manche and Patrice Martin, roads assistant. In West France, Friday September 8, 2023, Odile Lefaix-Véron, deputy for associative life, described the Forum of associations as “the annual meeting which allows volunteers to share their passions with the public, to recruit new members for their associations and renew registrations”.
