Former SC Heerenveen Striker Excels at Excelsior

SC Heerenveen will take on Excelsior in the Abe Lenstra Stadium on Saturday. The Kralingers often feature ex-Heerenveen striker Couhaib Driouech, who played for the Frisians in the youth academy and in the Under 21 team between 2016 and 2021. He also played five matches in the first team.

Now Driouech is impressing at Excelsior in the Eredivisie. “He has developed,” says club watcher Sander de Vries Broadcaster Abe, who doesn’t entirely agree with some fans. “These are also the stories you hear from people: Heerenveen has let Driouech go, Arjen van der Heide gone… Who, by the way, is doing a nice job at Roda JC.”

“I don’t think Heerenveen said goodbye to those types of boys too early, because those boys were not ready for it at that time. They can also develop,” De Vries concludes. The match between SC Heerenveen and Excelsior starts on Saturday at 9 p.m.
