Playing at the Nova Iguaçu training center, Fluminense beat the home team, this Saturday (16/09), in the seventh round of the Under-15 and Under-17 State Championships. With victory, the youngest will take second place, while the oldest follow behind the competition leaders.

The Tricolor U-15 even hit the opponent’s post with Caio Henriques and demanded a lot from the goalkeeper, especially in the first half. The goal took a while, but it came. It was in the 31st minute of the final stage that, after Yan’s corner kick, Carlos Daniel headed in to open the scoring. In the end, Flu lost Pablo Henrique, who was sent off, but secured the result that maintains its unbeaten record and makes it second to Carioca, with 20 points.

The club’s Under-17 team found the back of the net one time after another and resolved the game in the first half. In the 25th minute, Riquelmy, when taking a free kick, covered the goalkeeper for Brasília’s deflection. The move encouraged the Tricolor kids, who quickly increased their lead on the scoreboard. Launched at 29 by Esquerdinha, Matheus Reis, face to face, got the better of the archer.

Even with one less in the final minutes due to Faísca’s expulsion, Fluminense reached 15 points, in third place, within the classification zone for the quarter-finals of the championship.

The next commitment for both categories for the Guanabara Cup is the classic against Vasco, next Saturday (23/09), at the Vale das Laranjeiras Stadium, in Xerém. The ball rolls at 9am and 11am, respectively.
