Next week the Champions League starts for Feyenoord with a match against Celtic, but before that a meeting with SC Heerenveen is planned. However, not everyone among the Rotterdammers is fit.

Striker Ayase Ueda was injured during the international match. “Ueda’s withdrawal from a Japan international match is a huge disappointment for Feyenoord,” says Mikos Gouka in the AD Football podcast. “The intention was for him to play against SC Heerenveen and in the Champions League against Celtic.” For the competition, Arne Slot still has Santiago Gimenez at the point of attack, but the Mexican would actually get some rest.

Gouka thinks that the match against the Scots is already crucial for Feyenoord. Gimenez has to watch this match from the stands due to a suspension. “You have to beat them at home if you want anything in the Champions League, but you don’t have any strikers available.”
