Slot wanted to win again with Feyenoord in the remainder of the Classic
Feyenoord won, while it was icy quiet around the field. “It is not usual to play football for 35 minutes in an empty stadium. Fortunately, the latter (the empty stadium, ed.) is no longer the case, because it was a bit reminiscent of a few years ago,” says Feyenoord coach Arne Slot , who can still remember the empty stands during the corona crisis all too well.
Storm in Amsterdam

“You try to get into the opponent’s head. Neither of us have had this scenario yet, so we didn’t know what they were going to do. Personally, I would have gone full on attack,” Slot noted beforehand.
Another reason for wanting to win was the sense of honor. Slot and his team were heading for a historic victory, but the celebration did not happen last Sunday. “We really wanted to win here for the second time. It felt like the shine of our victory last Sunday had been taken away. The only way to get that back was to win here again.”
