In the second training session, the teams engaged in qualifying and racing simulations under artificial lighting. In the beginning, the situation at the front changed quickly. After that, the Ferrari drivers settled in the first places, just like in the first practice. Carlos Sainz was the fastest this time.
Third place went to George Russell. Max Verstappen was only eighth behind teammate Sergio Pérez.
Alex Albon drove only five laps in the second practice. The team had to deal with problems with the Mercedes power unit.
