After finishing their participation in the National Women’s Basketball Championship U-15, 2008 and Minors, the representative from Veracruz said goodbye to his followers hoping that in the coming years he will be able to live this experience again.

This was stated by the coach of the Veracruz quintet, Omar Pimentel Mata, who despite not advancing to the final stage was happy with his team’s performance.

“It didn’t go as well as we expected, because we only beat Quintana Roo in the group stage, but it was a good experience for the girls as it was their first event,” she said.

He welcomed the fact that the Veracruz team was integrated with players from the entity. “They came from Poza Rica, Minatitlán, Catemaco, Coatzacoalcos, Ciudad Mendoza, Orizaba and Xalapa,” he said.

“The important thing,” he continued, “is that the Mexican Basketball Sports Association (Ademeba) turned to Veracruz and trusted that good events can be held.”

He acknowledged that unfortunately there are still obstacles that prevent the so-called “burst sport” from rising as they would like. “Progress continues, but the reality is that we must follow the same line to work; “There must be more camaraderie than enmity and the day we put on the shirt, that we stand up with the same firmness to do things, Veracruz will be unstoppable.”

THE CURTAIN FALLS

On the other hand, the contest, which is organized jointly by the Mexican Basketball Sports Association (Ademeba) and the local City Council, will conclude this Sunday.

By the way, the tournament was attended by teams from Aguascalientes, Baja California, Campeche, Chiapas, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Mexico State, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Michoacán, Morelos, Nayarit, New Leon, Oaxaca, Puebla, Queretaro, Quintana Roo, Sinaloa , Sonora, Tabasco, Tamaulipas, Yucatan, Zacatecas, Mexico City and Veracruz, counting on the participation of 350 athletes.

The coach of the Veracruz quintet, Omar Pimentel Mata, recognized that there is a lack of unity for Veracruz basketball to take a leap in quality.
