Empowering Women in Sports: Spotlight on Two Judo Ladies in Austria’s Gender Trainee Program

The country needs strong, competent women: Vice Chancellor and Minister of Sports Werner Kogler invited people to a get-together evening organized by the Ministry of Sports, which was entirely part of the gender trainee program initiated by the ministry in 2021. Two judo ladies came into the spotlight that evening.

Lisa Dengg is one of 30 trainees who are currently working across Austria as trainers, sports managers and talent coaches and will receive appropriate support and training for a total of four years as part of the program. The 25-year-old from Salzburg, who most recently came third at the European Open in Sarajevo, is the first trainee with a judo connection. She has been working in the SSM Salzburg competitive sports model for a year and is benefiting from the practical training. ÖJV General Secretary Corina Korner was invited as a role model and keynote speaker. A total of 64 women are to be supported as part of the trainee program.
