Dominican Judoka Medickson Del Orbe Wins Bronze at Pan American Oceania Senior Championship

The Dominican judoka Medickson of the Orb continues to make history, this time by winning the bronze medal in the Pan American Oceania Senior Championship of Judo in Calgary, Canada.

For the Franco-Macorisan, this notable achievement allowed him to climb seven positions in the world ranking of the 81 kg category, now ranking 25th with 2,152 points.

Del Orbe, 27 years old, participated in this event that was attended by 170 judokas from 24 countries and that offered valuable points for qualification to the judo tournament at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

This most recent achievement adds to the silver medal that del Orbe obtained last August, becoming the first Dominican to achieve such distinction in a Judo Grand Prix.

Upcoming Competitions

With its sights set on the future, del Orbe already has its next competitions scheduled:

September 22, 2023: Will participate in the Heydar Aliyev Baku Grand Slam 2023. October 28, 2023: Will be in action at the Panamerican Games 2023.

These competitions will be key to continue rising in the world ranking and to consolidate their path towards the Paris Olympic Games.
