On September 20, in Nanjing, there was drizzle in the sky and the temperature dropped a lot. In the training hall of the Jiangsu Provincial Disabled Persons Cultural and Sports Guidance Center, disabled athletes from Hebei Province are practicing enthusiastically.

Turn around and prepare, adjust your breathing, and throw hard… Hebei Province athlete Zhao Yuping carefully polished the details of the shot put throwing action. She has been repeating this action nearly 200 times a day recently.

At the Tokyo Paralympic Games, Zhao Yuping lost to Uzbekistan’s athletes by a narrow margin and won a silver medal. Participating in the Hangzhou Asian Para Games, she is very likely to encounter her old rival again, which makes her full of fighting spirit in training because she refuses to admit defeat. “Recently, my performance has been improving. I hope that through unremitting efforts, I can win back the gold medal at the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou.” Zhao Yuping said while wiping sweat.

On the sidelines, seven other disabled throwing athletes from Hebei Province were performing special strength exercises or refining the details of their movements, with coaches reminding and instructing them from time to time.

This is the wheelchair group athlete of the National Disabled Badminton Team preparing for the Hangzhou Asian Para Games. There are 9 athletes in this group, 5 of whom are from Hebei.

According to reports, Hebei disabled badminton started early and has achieved good results through hard training in recent years. These five athletes have all achieved outstanding results in international competitions and are currently the main players in the wheelchair group of the National Disabled Badminton Team.

“Two hours of training every morning, two hours of training in the afternoon, and athletes taking the initiative to practice more in the evening.” Qu Fuchun, coach of the wheelchair team of the National Disabled Badminton Team, said, “Only multi-ball training, every team member is a One hundred starts, and I need to keep rocking the wheelchair to coordinate with hitting the ball during training. Yin Menglu, an athlete from Hebei Province, is the most disabled person in the team. Zhao Shuai, who won two gold medals at the Tokyo Paralympics, is the only player from Hebei Province preparing for the table tennis competition at the Hangzhou Asian Para Games. He is currently training under closed conditions at the National Table Tennis Training Base in Zhengding, Hebei.
