This penalty is causing discussions!
“Huh? Penalty for Paris…” asked BVB on X (formerly Twitter). Dortmund captain Emre Can remarked on Amazon Prime Video after the game: “He falls on his hand, he has to support himself somewhere.”
Mats Hummels used his presence at X to express his opinion.
“Poor performance from us and a deserved win for PSG,” the BVB defender wrote in English – and added critically: “Nevertheless, the referee didn’t help today, lots of bad decisions like the penalty whistle. So you and we have to improve for the second leg.”
Matthias Sammer also made it clear: “He gets it on his right hand. I’m glad artificial intelligence is coming soon. The way the referee stumbled and swaggered across the pitch is no longer any joy.” BVB’s external advisor spoke of a “total wrong decision”, and Josephine Henning made similar comments. Marius Wolf was also not impressed with the referee’s performance.
Former referee Wolfgang Stark, an expert at Amazon, said: “Again a hand scene that can be discussed. When you see the scene, the hand is not actively going to the ball and is relatively close to the body.”

Gräfe therefore concluded: “No penalty!”
