Bola.net – Complete list of teams that have qualified for the round of 16 in football at the 2023 Asian Games. So far, there are two teams that are confirmed to have qualified for the round of 16 at the 2023 Asian Games.
The Indonesian national team is taking part in the 2023 Asian Games football. Indonesia is in Group F, competing with North Korea, Kyrgyzstan and Chinese Taipei.
Indra Sjafri’s troops are now at the top of Group F. Indonesia won three points after winning 2-0 over Kyrgyzstan. The points and goal difference obtained by Indonesia are the same as North Korea, but they are superior in discipline points.
Indonesia will qualify for the round of 16 if it wins over Chinese Taipei on the second matchday, Thursday (21/9/2023) evening WIB. Indonesia will follow two other countries that have already qualified for the round of 16.

Who Qualified for the Top 16?

Initially, 23 teams participated in the 2023 Asian Games football, divided into six groups. This means that there is one group consisting of three countries, namely Group D (Japan, Palestine and Qatar).
However, during the journey, two teams withdrew, namely Syria and Afghanistan. Both teams are in Group C.
There are three ways to qualify for the round of 16 of the 2023 Asian Games. The first way is to become group winner. The second way is to become runner-up. And, thirdly, compete in a special standings for the best third place.

As of Thursday (21/9/2023) at 10.30 WIB, only two teams had qualified for the round of 16. The two teams are Hong Kong and Uzbekistan, both from Group C.
Group C is a special group. Because, there are only two competing countries, namely Uzbekistan and Hong Kong. This happened after Syria and Afghanistan withdrew from the 2023 Asian Games.
Uzbekistan Hong Kong automatically qualified for the round of 16. They will play on 22 and 25 September 2023, to determine the position as champion or runner-up in Group C.
